Marilyn
Monroe is an actress, celebrity, blonde bombshell and a sex symbol born on June
1, 1926. She is a movie actress popularly known as Norma Jeane Baker, Norma Jean
Baker, and Norma Jean Mortenson. By religion, she is a Judaism.

Marilyn Monroe Early
Life
Marilyn
Monroe was born to Gladys Mortenson, a film technician whose husband is Edward
Mortenson. During her childhood age, she was named Norma Jean Baker. C. Stanley
Gifford was Marilyn Monroe natural father. He was a studio employee. Norma Jean
Baker attended Van Nuys High School in Los Angeles, California. Gladys had
mental illness that disturbed her when Marilyn was still small. This made Norma
Jean to be placed in a series of twelve foster home, and once in an orphanage.
In an
attempt to escape the foster home, When Marilyn was 16 years old, she got
married to James Dougherty who was 20 years old by then. One year later, she
joined the U.S Merchant Marine in the year 1943. Marilyn started working in an
airline plant which was part of the World War II factory effort. She worked
first as a parachute inspector, and as a paint sprayer. Later on, she started
working part time as a photographer. This is because when the government
inspected the female section of the plant Marilyn was the person that took the
photograph, from there, she observed that she will be a good photographer.
From a
photographer, she entered into being an actress which was her dream. She was a
successful photographer by then. She later bleached her hair to become blond
and divorced Dougherty in the year 1946. As part of a way to making more money,
she signed a one-year contract with Twentieth Century-Fox on Augus 26, 1946.
The contract was to pay $125/month. She was later advised to take a stage name
Marilyn by a casting director Ben Lyon, she accepted the suggestion and took
the stage name but she added Monroe to the name which was her grandmother’s
last name.

Marilyn
Monroe Later signed a one-year contract with Columbia. Tom Kelley was her
photographer who took Marilyn full-length nude shots, which he sold for a calendar
in the year 1950. That same year, she appeared in The Asphalt Jungle but her
name wasn’t given credits, even as at that, her appearance generated a huge number
of fan base. That was when her reputation as a bombshell started manifesting.
Later
on, she entered into seven years contract with Twentieth Century-Fox. This made
her appear in All About Eve. She made her first appearance in Niagara in the
year 1953. Furthermore, she sang at Gentlemen Prefer Blondes where she was
given her own dressing room for the first time.
Marilyn
Monroe later entered a short-lived marriage with a famous baseball player, Joe
DiMaggio in January 1954. They divorced in October same year.

She acted several movies which include:
1. Seven Year Itch:
In the
featured image of the said movie, Marilyn Monroe appeared in the famous
photographic stunt, in a White halter dress, with her skirt blown up by a
draft from a sidewalk grate, leaning down to catch her dress so that her
cleavage showed. The photograph was used to advertise the film and has become
one of the iconic images of Marilyn Monroe.
She later went to New York to study at the Actress Studio with Lee Strasberg for a year in her pursuit to master the acting skills. This was when she finished filming The Seven Year Itch, in which she played a prototypical “dumb blond”.
2. Bus Stop:
She
acted the movie Bus Stop in the year 1956. This movie got many critics that
later lead her to depression, drugs, self-doubt and alcohol. Earlier in the
year 1955, she formed her own company with Milton Greene which led them to sign
a contract with Twentieth Century-Fox.
This
equally led her to taking sleeping pills for her insomnia, consulting
psychiatrists regularly. Remember that her maternal grandparent had earlier struggled
with mental illness. The depression even led her to drinking heavily
After acting the movie Bus Stop, she got married to Arthur Miller. When she married Arthur, she converted to Judaism. Her marriage with Arthur lasted for over two years. During that time, her husband was busy fighting his conviction for contempt-of-Congress for refusing to answer two questions before the House Un-American Activities Committee (HUAC). She became more depressed and added her use of alcohol and drugs because of the miscarriage in her marriage.

Monroe was accused of having an affair with President John F. Kennedy, and his
brother, Robert F. Kennedy. This was early 1961 when she divorced her husband,
Arthur Miller.
Marilyn Monroe Death
Marilyn
addiction to drugs and alcohol became too much whe she was shooting a movie
titled Something's Got to Give. This led to her dismissal from
the movie. She was immediately sent to a mental hospital, then after, she was
approved to rejoin the movie.
Two
months later after this incident, she was found dead in her home in Los Angeles,
United States. She was found by her housekeeper with an empty bottle of sleeping
pills next to her body. After some investigation on the cause of her death, it
was found that she might have committed suicide.
